Attending The Meeting Space was a fantastic way for us to ensure that we are up to date on the latest news within the industry whether this is a new opening, existing refurbishments or new ideas from DMCs. It cements our relationships, which in turn helps us help our customers make the right decisions for their events. Whilst checking out the space and updating my knowledge, I also had 25 one to one meetings with hotels and suppliers across the two days.
The host venue was the newly opened Riu Plaza Espana. This centrally located property has over 550 bedrooms and 17 meeting rooms. It is a 4* property and perfect for our pharmaceutical clients as well as those larger meetings.
Sampling the food and checking out the rooftop bar was also on the agenda, with 360-degree views and a glass-bottomed bridge, I can honestly assure you, it was an experience worth having and totally amazing.
Along with some insightful meetings, we also got the chance to do a Tapas tour around the city; what a great activity this was and suitable for a range of group sizes and perfect for those who are short of time.
We dined at La Masia de Jose Luis in the evening, this old farmhouse, located in the centre of Madrid is able to host dinners for up to 500 guests as well as catering for smaller more intimate events. The beautiful courtyard is a spectacular setting for a drinks reception under the stars.
A thoroughly worthwhile trip – lots of new contacts made and old ones reinvigorated.
